چکیده

Fuel-related measures and modernization of small-scale combustion units has become the focus attention in renewable heat generation sector, as a means to promote local biomass utilization fuel-flexibility while meeting strict environmental legislative requirements. With aim mitigate total particulate matter emissions ash-associated problems characteristic crop residue combustion, (1) corn cob pellets (with without kaolin binder) well (2) fuel blends with wood were combusted pellet oven under full load. Results show that additivation or blending (e.g., 50 wt. % pellets) reduce CO-emissions by 48 60 64 89 %, respectively, comparison baseline from non-additivized pellets. Kaolin prevented sintering ash. However, considerable grate ash entrainment was observed. TPM consists “primary network”—polyhedral spherical particles approximately 1 μm diameter (mainly KCl), “secondary network” built on top primary network, consisting square-prism-shaped 200 nm diameter. KCl K2SO4 are main compounds respectively. Effective demonstrated within this study should be complemented low-cost coarse removal systems.

Particulate Matter Emission Factors for Biomass Combustion

Emission factor is a relative measure and can be used to estimate emissions from multiple sources of air pollution. For this reason, data from literature on particulate matter emission factors from different types of biomass were evaluated in this paper. Initially, the main sources of particles were described, as well as relevant concepts associated with particle measurements. In addition, arti...

Particulate Emission from Internal Combustion Engines

In this work, number concentration and size distribution at the exhaust of a Port Fuel Injection (PFI) Spark Ignition (SI) engine downstream a three-way catalyst and a Direct Injection Common Rail Diesel engine have been measured with two particle size instruments. The gas exhaust is first diluted, a nano DMA is used to obtain the particles size distribution function in the 3-60 nm range, in pa...

Survey on Measurements and Emission Factors on Particulate Matter from Biomass Combustion in Iea Countries

Since biomass combustion is related to high emissions of particulate matter (PM), the International Energy Agency (IEA) Bioenergy Task 32 is promoting the implementation of technical measures for PM reduction. As a basis to set priorities and as a guideline for future regulations, emission factors from different types of combustion are of interest. The target of the present study is to collect ...

Particulate Matter and Ammonia Emission Factors

Emissions rates for particulate matter less than 10 m (PM10) and ammonia (NH3) from commercial tunnel–ventilated broiler houses in central Texas were analyzed using linear regressions to develop emission rates as a function of bird weight for broilers on litter. Interior ambient temperature and relative humidity were not found to be significant factors affecting emissions. From the regression e...
